Intent

At Amesbury Archer Primary School, we want our children to ’Aim High’. We aim for children to develop an understanding and respect for religious beliefs, values and practices of other people in the world around them and establish an ethos of honesty throughout the school. We also endeavour for our children to develop a respectful and sensitive attitude towards others and support their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. We aim to inspire curiosity and an enthusiasm for learning about different religions. At Amesbury Archer, we follow an enquiry - based approach whereby children’s critical thinking skills are enhanced and their understanding of world religions, including Christianity, contributes to their understanding of the world and their own experiences within it.
